Moodle Courses on the Digital Library Reference Model

The Digital Library Reference Model is a key output aimed at facilitating Library and Information Science professionals when it comes to dealing with entitites in this complex universe. These web-based modules provide an induction course into the conceptual framework of the Digital Library Reference Model and early invesitgations into the six core concepts captured therein conducted by content, functionality, user, quality, policy and architecture.These courses have been designed to facilitate knowledge acquisition with regard to these core conceots as they are captured by the Reference Model. Users can test their knowledge through quizzes and self-assessment across these core conceptsl. This induction course comprises:

  • A course on the main concepts of the Digital Library Reference Model.
  • Six courses dedicated to each one of the core domains, that is, content, functionality, user, policy, quality and architecture.

The DELOS Classification and Evaluation Scheme is also covered in the Digital Library Section in the Digitial Library section of Wikiversty, in collaboration with the Digital Library Curriculum Development initiative which brings together Virginia Tech and the Library and Information Graduate School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, U.S. The Modules are entitled Digital Libraries/Conceptual frameworks, models, theories, definitions.
