Discussions will focus not just on the content that should be included in Library and Information Science programmes, but will also explore the many implications, both conceptual and practical, that arise when working in the “information field”, very broadly defined.

Workshop Goals

  • Trigger a discussion aimed at understanding which aspects of research in Digital Libraries impact most on education in Digital Libraries.
  • Energise thinking on how results of research in Digital Libraries can be timely transferred to education in Digital Libraries, e.g. how to implement a European scale mechanism for exchanging, sharing and integrating research results into education.
  • Outline the content of a report to be distributed to the research and education communities interested in Digital Libraries, for furthering the discussion of those topics.

Speakers
Vittore Casarosa, Institute of Information Science & Technologies, National Research Council of Italy.
Donatella Castelli, Institute of Information Science & Technologies, National Research Council of Italy.
