A common journey to new frontiers

DL.org Booklets based on core set of outputs: Digital Library Manifesto, Digital Library Checklist, Digital Library Cookbook, Digital Library Reference Model - In a Nutshell. The outputs stem from synergies with international  experts and engagement with stakeholder community, professionals, educationalists and students at various stages in their academic careers mainly from the Library and Information space but also from Computer Science. DL.org Outputs

Interoperability is key to advancing Digital Libraries, broadening choice and opening up new research perspectives across diverse domains. DL.org has investiged the complexities of interoperability from multiple perspectives.The DL.org Cookbook provides a framework for addressing interoperability coupled with patterns and solutions. The DL.org Digital Library Reference Model provides a roadmap enabling the diverse stakeholders involved to share a common understanding and follow the same route when dealing with the multi-faceted Digital Library universe with tailored publications  for Library professionals, educationalists, students and assessors: Manifesto, Conformance Check List.  [Read More]

Experts & Consortium

DL.org has harnessed the expertise that exists globally through its six Working Groups, one for each core concept investigated: content, user, functionality, policy, quality and architecture. DL.org has also drawn on the support of its Liaison Group, while the strategic direction has been shaped by its External Advisory Board. The activities of the Working Groups are co-ordinated through our Tech Wiki. Key outputs include the DL.org Digital Library Reference Model and suite of related publications, as well as the Digital Library Technology & Methodology Cookbook. [Read more]

Events & Training

DL.org educational events include our Autumn School, Seminar on Research and Education in Digital Libraries, Workshops on Theory and Practice on Digital Libraries: A European Approach and on Digital Libraries and Open Access. Interoperability Strategies. Alongside the international workshops at ECDL2010 and ECDL2009, DL.org resources stem from hosted sessions and presentations at external events and peer-reviewed papers.
