The DL.org Workshop series takes place during the yearly European Conference on Digital Libraries (ECDL), which has now been re-named International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL).The next conference takes place in Berlin, 25-29 September 2011.
The 2nd DL.org Workshop in September 2010 was hosted during the 14th European Conference on Digital Libraries (ECDL2010) in Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
The 1st Workshop, which took place on 1 October 2009 during the 13th European Conference on Digital Libraries (ECDL2009) in Corfu, Greece, was dedicated to Digital Libraries: Interoperability, Best Practices and Modelling Foundations.
- The Workshop was attended by over 50 people coming from across Europe, Asia, North America, and South Africa. Each participant received the first edition of DL.org Booklet on Digital Library Interoperability, Best Practices and Modelling Foundations.
- The main features of the Workshop include a keynote from Europeana, an introduction to DL.org, six expositions on DL.org's approach to DL interoperability (content, function, user, policy, quality and architecture), an interactive panel discussion and position statements from the audience. Paving the Way for DL.org - the Digital Library Foundation series of workshops
The DL.org workshop aims to continue the discussion which took place during the three Workshops on “
Digital Library Foundations”, organised by the DELOS project, and which can be considered as precursor events for this Workshop.
